Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with executive leadership and member board to develop and execute visions for expanding and supporting core platforms, infrastructure, and services.

• Define a modern strategy efficiently utilizing technology to maintain a best in class experience for members, staff, and the general public.

• Drive growth and innovation by understanding the core missions and applying the latest technology to add value for members and assure staff productivity.

• Manage and mentor IT Staff to build a close-knit, empowered, high impact team.

  • • Maintain a progressive understanding of IT staff proficiencies and guide them to develop new skills to fill competency gaps.

• Distribute initiatives between internal developers, external consultancies, and offshore developers ensuring use of all technical resources in appropriate and economical ways.

• Manage capital and operating budgets for all information technology services and continuously strive to keep costs manageable.

Key Achievements

• Reduced technology overhead costs by over 40% by converting to a 100% cloud based workforce and consolidating core systems to Salesforce, including our AMS, CMS, website hosting, and financial systems.

  • • Seamlessly integrated all external systems with Salesforce as the key system of record.

    • Consolidated technical skillsets allowing larger scope of technical capabilities with smaller staff.

• Led development of a custom, Salesforce based, application forms system replacing a large series of external services.

  • • Created universal fellowship application system used by all hand fellowship programs in the United States.

    • Replaced external scientific abstract application and review system with a custom solution.

    • Replaced manual membership applications with an online application system.

• Strategized and led the re-implementation of all ASSH websites transitioning from an IBM hosted DNN infrastructure to Salesforce hosted websites - ASSH Main Site, Hand.e, Foundation, Annual Meeting, Handcare (our public facing site), and more.

• Featured by Community Brands at their Xperience 2022 conference as the keynote speaker in the session "Becoming a Trailblazing Organization."

• Managed cross functional teams of Technical Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA personnel to execute projects creating and improving online corporate banking services.

• Oversaw requirements from senior corporate leadership into software development strategies.
